Ironing clothes is one of those tasks that I hate the most. Every time I buy clothes, I try to make it sure that these clothes are the types that you wash then wear immediately. My aunt and I did not have any agreements when it comes to this chore, because I try not to iron my clothes as much as possible and it is in her opinion that I look like a mess every time I do.
Why do I hate ironing clothes, you ask? It's tedious. Who wants to stand in front of the ironing board for an hour and iron dozens of clothes on a given day? It's hot. Literally. I couldn't help but sweat every time I have to iron my clothes. I always have to put the fan in front of me or turn the air conditioner on just to literally keep my cool. Lastly, it's pointless. Save for a few pieces of clothes that really look garbage when not ironed, I don't think there's any need to iron every piece of clothing in the closet. Sometimes you just have to do it. When that time comes, you got to tell yourself that you cannot hate this task because when you do hate it, you will just mess it up. There are little practices that you can do to lessen your hate for ironing clothes, though. Hopefully they work. As a rule, I try not to set up the whole ironing set just for a single item. Although there are times when it does happen due to the busy schedule, I try to iron my clothes during a specific time of the day, preferably when there's something good to watch on television. I then set up my ironing board in front of the TV and iron away while getting myself entertained. Nothing good on TV? Then turn on the radio or your music player to keep you in the mood. Never buy a cheap iron. Cheap irons are those kinds that will make you work longer because they are not that effective. Middle-range irons should be good enough so long as they have enough steam to make the job easier.
