Sometimes I love talking with my female colleagues at the office. I may have known females more intimately than some of my fellow males have (they aren't that much of a mystery to me) but everyday I still learn some things from them. These pieces of information may not be necessarily true for everyone, but it's still a funny thought thinking about their clothing habits.

When dressing up for office work for the rest of the week, I really don't give much thought as to what I will wear. Being a guy, there's hardly anything that you can mix and match for your office attire. You just have some dress shirts, some slacks, black shoes, a watch, and that's it. The only thing that you have to decide is what particular dress shirt you will wear, because they have different colors.

It's a different case for women. Because there are so many different types of clothing articles to wear, it becomes difficult to find those that you can wear for a particular day without looking too generic or very much like your outfit yesterday. Sometimes I still have difficulties thinking why women would need that but, according to my female colleague, that's just the way it is.

And so she decided to test wearing her outfits for the rest of the week on a weekend. I had no instant reaction but to be stunned at this declaration. Who in the world would test her outfits for the rest of the week? These are not outfits for parties, mind you, but outfits for office work. When I go to office, I think about my work. I don't think about the outfit I wear. I relented to laugh afterwards.

Clearly, in an office setup, it does not matter if you stand out or not. In fact, becoming a stand out is discouraged in business. Have you ever wondered why black and white are the standard colors for this kind of setup?
