Without knowledge about sewing and embroidering, you would think that it is already impossible for you to make your own designs on your shirts. Fortunately, this is not the case these days as computers have made it possible to make your own designs. All you need is a printer, a computer graphics design tool, and some iron on paper on which you will print your designs.
There are ready-made kits that already have iron on paper, designs, and software bundled together, but I will still suggest that you make your own because it's much cheaper that way. You can use Adobe Photoshop or, if that is not available for you, the likes of Gimp or even Microsoft Paint. Anything that will allow you to edit and create images that you will be pleased with as shirt design should be alright. Once you have already created your image, print a sample. The sample should be exactly the way you want it to look. Keep on creating previews and print them on paper while making adjustments until such time that you are satisfied with your work. Make sure that you also flip your design in your image editor because it is going to be the mirror image that is going to be seen on your garment after ironing. When you are already happen with your creation, print it on the special iron on paper. You can purchase these at specialized shirt designing stores or even in general purpose bookstores. Carefully cut the design and leave about a 1/4" border around the actual image. Turn on your flat iron to the highest temperature setting (usually cotton) and test your iron on paper on a piece of spare fabric. If you are satisfied with the result, you can proceed to ironing the paper on your shirt. Let it cool for a while and you are done! I actually know a couple of people who have turned this hobby into a business of their own. Try it for yourself and, who knows, you might like turning it into your own money-making venture.
