More often than not, I see men wearing neckties over shirts whose sleeves are actually shorter than their arm length. Many men would think that this is a good substitute for formal clothing, but it is not. They may look like dress shirts but they are not. They are just casual shirts that should not be worn in a business setting. It is always safer to go for a classier option and go with a long-sleeved shirt.

A lot of men also forget the value of good-looking shoes. While among men, shoes are among the least-valued pieces of the wardrobe, they are actually the first things that some people look at. Formal shoes have to be shiny and well kept. Lace-up shoes are your best option when it comes to formal clothing.

Then when there are the shoes, there is also the belt. A man's formal belt should not look too big or too small. As a general rule, the shoes also have to match the belt when it comes to color and style. A man should heavily invest in his belt and make sure that they do not look all worn-out.

Finally, we have the tie. One common question that men ask is about the length of their ties. As a rule, the tie should touch the belt line, but should not go longer than the area covered by the belt. It makes a person look tacky whenever the tie becomes too short or too long.
