After years of hard work and waiting, you're now finally embarking on your dream cruise! Whether you'll be going out with a partner or alone, a cruise is a perfect time to unwind and to enjoy the fruits of your life efforts. Now if this is going to be your first cruise, then you'll have one teensy little problem, and that has something to do with asking which clothes to pack.

Suffice to say, the clothes that you are going to pack depends on the itinerary of your cruise. There are general formulas, however, that you can use when deciding which pieces of clothing to wear and that is what we are going to discuss in this post. The idea is to pack light without having that feeling that you had missed out something essential back home.

For most of these luxury cruises, you'll be advised by the cabin crew of clothes to wear during certain nights. These dinners could go from casual and smart casual to formal. Casual means your usual clothes, while smart casual clothes may mean jackets, ties, and dresses. Then the formal wear could only mean tuxedos, long gowns, or maybe cocktail dresses. If you don't want to dress up for dinner, then that's OK. All of the attires mentioned are just suggestions in the first place.

Most of these luxury cruises are set in areas where there's a high concentration of beaches and pools. If this is the case, you will also need to bring in some swimwear with you, plus thongs for your feet. If we follow the usual patterns in cruises like this, you'll really have to pack a lot of beachwear for yourself.

Finally, I would also like to suggest a good pair of walking shoes that will accompany you everytime you drop by a port. Rugged jeans plus clothes that you are willing to get mudded are also advised since you'll never know what you'll get in each of the ports.
