So you're already moving out of your home to go to college. You are excited about the prospects of living in a dorm with your fellow college students and having the chance to party like you have never done so before. Unfortunately, there's this little--very little--task that you have to do. And that involves packing your clothes for college. Fortunately, we are here to give you some tips.
First things first. You got to know the season. Chances are you are going to go home anyway during the winter break so better bring with you only the clothes that you will be needing for the next three months or so. No use bringing your swimsuits during the autumn term, for example. This can save you a lot of space in your bags and leaves you with more space for those clothing that are not necessary. That brings me to my next point, which is to make sure that you have clothes good for at least the next two weeks. Sometimes when you are studying so hard, it becomes difficult to wash your clothes more than once a week. So better bring some extra clothes with you and have two weeks' worth of clothes instead. Of course this rule is waived if you are ready to get dirty and turn your clothes inside out (side A and side B) when worse becomes worst. For clothes, you should also stock up on casual clothes, but also learn to diversity. Expect to go on any of those formal events once in a while, and maybe you will also land yourself in a job interview during the course of the semester. It always pays to be ready. Finally, don't forget the shoes! This is one of those things that I find students forgetting to bring--pairs of good shoes that they can wear in alternate. You cannot simply wear the same pair of shoes over and over again, because if you do, they are bound to wear off after the first month or so!
