Pants are probably some of the most difficult articles of clothing that one has to iron. They are large, they are long, and most of the time, the fabric used is also tough to iron. Sometimes when I feel like they are not that wrinkled, I would just get away with wearing pants without ironing them. Jeans have not been ironed out for the longest time. But supposing that you want to iron your pants, how are you supposed to do it?

You can iron your pants on any type of flat surface, but for best results and to avoid potential damage to the surface, use an ironing board. They can be pretty annoying to set up, but they do serve the purpose of providing a flat surface that can withstand the possibility of burning holes through. The length of the ironing board should be longer than the length of your pants's leg.

Pants, like any other type of clothes, have ironing instructions that you can follow. These instructions detail the type of setting or the temperature that you would need to set for your flat iron. Not minding this could lead to possible problems related to over- or under-ironing.

Put your pants on the ironing board and turn your flat iron on until it warms up. Most flat irons today already have indicators to tell you if they have already reached your desired temperature. Now when you are setting your pants, only one leg should be visible to you, ergo, you have to set your pants sideways. Iron in circular motion from the waist to the leg and then fold it back up in order to expose the inner side of that leg.

Once that's done, you can turn the pants over and do the same with the other leg. You will find that certain types of pants are also difficult to iron mainly due to the fabric that they use. In this case, you can use water to spray on your pants before ironing or any of those ironing fabric softeners.
