Taking good care of our clothes can be hard especially if you have no idea what to do. Never assume that one piece of advice is applicable to every type of clothing. Read on to know some tips on how to properly care for your wardrobe. White clothes should be washed after every wear. It may be tempting to store a white shirt back into the closet after a spill-free night because it looks clean and spotless. But don’t rely on your sense of sight because even if you don’t see any dirt on your shirt, there’s still other stains emitted by your body. This includes oils and perspiration. Your once-bright white shirt will turn into a yellowish tint over time. For dark clothes, it’s different. People usually wash these as much as they wash other clothes. Avoid doing so because frequent washings lead to faded clothing. For example, black pants can be worn several times before washing because they can withstand dirt and other soil. For better care while washing, run them on a short cycle in cold water and let them air-dry. The dryer should be avoided as much as possible. If the garment can be hung dry, do it. Not only will the dryer cause faded color, but the excessive heat can also make fibers brittle. This results to the fabric breaking down. To avoid this, remove lightweight garments such as shirts, underwear, or anything that contains spandex a few minutes earlier than heavy garments such as jeans. For jewelries, avoid hanging pearls because this weakens the silk threads that hold the necklace together. Also, wait 10 minutes after applying perfume or lotion before wearing those jewels. Beauty products are disreputable for leaving a greasy buildup. And remember to remove your baubles before swimming because the chlorine in pool water strips down the surface and shine. You wouldn’t want your precious jewelry to tarnish, right? Heels should also be taken good care of. If you drive, then you should avoid using heels while driving. The floorboard scratches the heel while the pedal scratches the toe, resulting to a grazed shoe even before you know it. Consider bringing slippers or flats when you drive and then change your shoes afterwards. You can talk about...
