Even today men wear necktie or 'tie' as most people call it. There are numerous concepts as to how and in what all occasions one should opt for this accessory, but the truth is tie can be worn on any occasion be it a birthday party, meeting or on a wedding. This is what makes tie such a popular accessory even after years of its first usage. It is very difficult to find the exact date as to when and where tie was first used, but as per records usage of tie spread since the days of King Louis XIV.

These days though there are plenty of ties available and you would have to decide on the type you wear depending on the cloths that you wear. There are broad ties and you would see their slim looking ties as well. in general, slim ties are the ones that you can wear for casual occasions only for any official purpose the conventional ones are the ones that best fit in to the requirement.

If you are planning to wear a slim tie for a party then you can actually choose any kind of them. However, these days’ people prefer to wear single colored slim look tie since it does not look very good with prints as the surface area is not very huge.

When you wear broad tie, they can be of any type as they are for official purposes (in most of the cases), try and keep it simple. A single colored one looks good or dotted or even stripped ones look good. In the end, the clothes that you wear and the tie that you wear should go with each other. The color of the tie cannot be very contrasting and different from the color of the clothes, so be very careful when choosing your tie.
